"HPLC Calculator" is a tool developed in the LCAP to improve analytical methods in HPLC, regarding analysis time and/or resolution."HPLC Calculator" is not an optimisation software and under no circumstance allows for the determination of necessary mobile phases conditions to separate molecules of interest. Only the kinetic parameters are evaluated.

This calculator determines the chromatographic performances (i.e. efficiency and generated pressure) of 9 chromatographic columns from Agilent, Waters, and Thermo-Electron, and gives out the optimal working conditions in both isocratic mode and gradient mode, depending on the mobile phase, stationnary phase, and molecular mass of studied compounds.

Furthermore, this program allows for the transfer of isocratic or gradient LC methods through the use of fundamental equations of chromatography. For the gradient mode transfer, the delay volume of the system needs to be indicated to be incorporated in calculations.

"HPLC Calculator" can be used for any transfer from HPLC to HPLC with differing column geometry, from HPLC to UHPLC or other sub-2µm configuration (down-scaling), or from analytical HPLC to preparative HPLC (up-scaling).
